Moving the Server (With a Touch of the Gossip)
November 5, 1999

Four members of MG team were Kay's guests at a lovely faculty club luncheon Friday. At the intimate gathering, a plan for the transfer of the MG files from the RUCS server to the SCILS server was successfully negotiated by Alex and Jon Oliver as the party enjoyed a menu of quiche, quesidilla, and rib-eye steak. Kay, Jane and Rebecca enjoyed the lively conversation, with various levels of comprehension. The comic book origins of the technical term debabelizing were revealed to the great amusement of the group, although at least one member of the party has since forgotten the definition of the term (she never learned how to spell it). Also, it was established that the term 'squished' is not properly employed to describe the actions of a computer. The hostess wore green, and a good time was had by all.

November 5, 1999 (later)

A post luncheon soiree was once again hosted by the outnumbered Kay in her luxurious office overlooking the autumn leaves along the Raritan and the scenic SCILS parking lot. The party, all members of the elite ECLIPSE society, were (truly) impressed by special guest Alex's command performance during which he revealed, for the very first time ever on this continent, some of the coding structure he has been creating. He and Jane performed two lovely duets "What Color Would You Have for the Titles, Oh My Website? " and "We Shall Have Links On the Side Bar, Dearie" in which they were joined by Kay and Rebecca for a rousing finish. As an encore, Alex dazzled the party with a tour of some technologically slick websites with which he was familiar, including Flash4, --further stretching the groups' view of the possible.
