The Seeker of Meanings

he Journey would be long and many needed to help along the way. They needed the Keeper of Records who knew the secret names to summon forth all things old and rare and odd. They needed the Protector of Precious Images who could hold up the most prized pictures for all to see. They needed the Seeker of Meanings who would search out the deepest, darkest meanings of words and link them to sources of knowledge and inspiration. And they needed the All-Seeing Observer who would chart their progress on the journey and help to keep them on their way. The Magician-in-Training had already been searching for the next generation of tale-tellers. She looked into the eyes of babies as she recited the old rhymes and watched for the spark of recognition that tied them to generations gone before.
