No doubt relishing the opportunity to paint full-color illustrations, Roger Duvoisin deployed his watercolors using a broad range of transparency and choosing clear, bright-toned pigments. The printer, and possibly Duvoisin himself, carefully monitored the photolithographic reproduction of the original illustrations, making corrections on the color proofs.
