Dreaming On a Star - How Content Can One Young Man Be?

ECLIPSE Image Number 00300000

The star is once again the sole source of wonder and inspiration in the sky. It is found in the evening sky and, therefore, is slightly muted and creates a hazy dreamlike effect. The boy appears to be daydreaming, perhaps imagining far away places and adventures to be experienced. The star serves as a guiding light as he proceeds into his dreams. Like the North Star, it may guide him and serve as a pathfinder in the years to come, but it will also be a connection back to the memories of his youth.

The use of muted pastel blues and greens enhances the dreamlike sense of the illustration. The star is alone in the top half of the illustration, and both it and the boy overlook the village below. The faithful dog has his back to all but his young master who he is protecting in his reverie.
