The Queen of Hearts

Serene Scene – No Thievery Yet

ECLIPSE Image Number 00030010

This image differs from the others in that the queen is serenely unaware that the tarts may be stolen. She is about to place them on the window sill for cooling, but there is no evidence of a thief waiting outside. Pale, cool colors and the peaceful expressions on the faces of the characters give this picture a very calm feeling. Could the young man following and holding her train, and perhaps looking longingly at those tarts, turn into the thief?
