Peter Piper Picked A Peck of Pickled Peppers

Portly Peter - Why Is Peter So Absent-minded?

ECLIPSE Image Number 00480002

Arnold Lobel portrays a well-dressed and well-groomed portly Peter Piper. Interestingly this Peter Piper is not playing a pipe of any sort. Also, he seems a bit absent minded, walking along with his eyes shut while peppers fall out of the top of his basket as well as slip out of a hole in the bottom of it. However, the contented smile on his face seems to indicate he is not worrying about the situation.
