Animals in the Kitchen – Chefs with Tails

ECLIPSE Image Number 01180003 ECLIPSE Image Number 00190004

Does the use of animal characters in prominent roles change your interpretation of this rhyme?

Compare the use of the cartoon-type dog with the more realistic images of mice in illustrating this tale? Do the different styles elicit different moods?

Does the use of all animal characters, rather than the mix of animal and human, make the illustration more “believable” in a literary/artistic sense?
