Little Bo Peep

Betwixt and Between - Lost Sheep

ECLIPSE Image Number 00060012

This is a very young and forlorn Bo Peep. Standing alone at the top of a hill, our young shepardess does not seem to know what to do next. Her blue dress stands out against the pastel background. Her head is tilted back and she holds her staff behind her in a horizontal position, emphasizing her unease and indecision. She is not actively seeking the lost sheep, but is apparently “let[ing] them alone, they’ll all come home.” Note, however, that her expression is not one of great confidence in the outcome of her inaction.
