Humpty Dumpty

Is That a White Flag of sSurrender? Are Those Soldiers Coming to Capture Humpty?

ECLIPSE Image Number 00840002

In this image, Humpty Dumpty seems to be dropping a white flag as he falls from the wall. He appears older than most Humptys, and there is more detail than usual in his facial expression; but that expression is difficult to read. If those soldiers in the distance are truly after him, could he have just determined to avoid capture at any cost? The lines of the wall, the mountains in the background, and the winding path all draw viewers’ eyes to the soldiers marching in from the distance.
