Humpty Dumpty

An Oblivious Blob. Is He Stupid, Inebriated, or Just Half Asleep Up There?

ECLIPSE Image Number 01290000

This Humpty seems to be unaware of the danger he is in, perching precariously on a balcony railing while the worried townspeople watch from the street below. He is dressed as somewhat of a dandy compared to the others. Might his neighbors consider him a wealthy eccentric and be wondering what he is up to now? Note the curved lines of the balcony, the street, the houses, and of Humpty himself which, along with the limited palette of golden brown, green, blue, and gray, gives a soft tone to this illustration.
