Pat-A-Cake, Pat-A-Cake

PC Pat-a-Cake - The Text Variation Is More Significant.

ECLIPSE Image Number 01910001

The author of Father Gander Nursery Rhymes: The Equal Rhymes Amendment states that nursery rhymes are often the first literature and songs that children hear. In their original versions, these rhymes are male dominated, full of violence and sexism, and other social injustice. The goal of the author is to maintain the musical and poetic value of the Mother Goose rhymes, but replace the text with more encouragement, equality and respect for others, which are better first lessons for young children. This version of Pat- A-Cake is no longer sexist by including baker's girl and now all of us will share in the cake. This book must have been written at the height of concern for political correctness. The large rainbow in the sky and the multicultural cast of characters in this image support this theme.
