Bye Bye Bunting

Rabbit Jammies - Smiling Baby

ECLIPSE Image Number 01350000

This picture is a humorous departure from the rest of the illustrations. While the baby’s clothing has ears and a tale, it looks more like terrycloth Carter’s pajamas than a genuine rabbit skin. This artist has obviously consciously divorced herself from the whole animal hunting and skinning aspect of the rhyme. This simple, child-like illustration has a contemporary look to it in both the depiction of the baby and the colors (soft reds, blues and yellows) used to frame the image, and perhaps to represent the crib or the baby’s room.
