Hot Cross Buns!

Three Pennies Waiting - Buns Still Hot

ECLIPSE Image Number 00920003

A church spire is visible in the background of this illustration as well. Here, the actual baker is the hot cross bun seller. The crosses on his hot cross buns are darker, which may have been the original custom in Europe (see Religious Significance section.) This seller is singing his heart out and ringing a bell to get attention, even though his customers have already assembled. Can you spot three pennies in three little hands, waiting to purchase a treat?
