Hush-A-Bye-Baby

Wide-eyed Baby - Blowing in the Wind

ECLIPSE Image Number 02170006

The contrast between the darkness of the tree branches against clear blue sky with the golden sun in the background is very obvious in this illustration. All the branches seem to pointing to, almost surrounding, the baby in the cradle. The cradle is loosely attached to the tree and may be in danger of being blown right out of the lower right corner of the image. It is difficult to read the expression on the child's face and the position of the body. Do they express fear or simply puzzlement?
