Baa, Baa, Black Sheep

What's in the Sky? - Conversation Below

In this picture the black sheep and the young boy look as if they are engaged in a conversation. The boy seems to be listening intently to the black sheep, ignoring all the white ones. He is sitting on a rock at eye level with the sheep who is apparently speaking. Neither character has dominance in this picture. The black sheep's appearance makes him look approachable and friendly. In the foreground there are white sheep hungrily grazing and one white sheep playfully tugging at the boy's vest. The illustrator draws our eyes to fluffy white clouds moving across the azure sky. They seem to be emanating from the text, and many of them have morphed into the shape of sheep.
